BBNaija season 6 finally kicks off with 22 housemates

The real battle for N90 million grand prize kicked off Sunday July 25 as MultiChoice Nigeria, producer of Big Brother Naija season 6, finally unveiled all the 22 housemates.

It was a special double launch of Africa’s biggest reality TV show as 11 male housemates, who entered the Big Brother House on Saturday, welcomed their 11 female co-contestants on Sunday.

Now, the 22 housemates competing for the big prize are Boma, Saga, Pere, Yousef, White Money, Niyi, Jay Paul, Emmanuel, Samie, Yerins, and Cross – all male. The female include Angel, Peace, Jackie B, Tega, Arin, Maria, Liquorose, Beatrice, Princess, Saskay, and Nini.

During the course of the show on Sunday, rapper Ladipoe performed his chart topping single, Feelingmuch to the delight of the viewers. To spice things up, the male housemates decided to play a prank on the female housemates by not saying a word to them as they made their way into the House.

The female housemates seemed worried and confused, as they did not understand why the guys were giving them the ‘cold shoulder’.  However, once all the female housemates settled in, the prank ended as the guys welcomed them with a loud cheer.

Later, Biggie welcomed all the housemates and announced that two of them are ‘Wild Cards’ and at the end of the week, if the other housemates can identify them, they will be evicted from the show. If not, they will be allowed to compete for the grand prize. The ‘Wild Cards’ will also be revealed to the audience in a special diary session on Thursday, July 29 at 3pm.

Themed: “Shine Ya Eye” and sponsored by Abeg in association with Patricia, BBNaijaairs from 7pm on DStv channel 198 and GOtv channel 29 with a simulcast on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family. And for the first time ever, fans of the reality show in the United Kingdom will have access to it via African online streaming service, Showmax. 

The winner of the BBNaija season 6 edition will walk away with a whopping N90 million worth of prizes, which include N30 million cash, Abeg digital wallet cash, bitcoins courtesy of Patricia, a two-bedroom apartment courtesy of RevolutionPlus Property, and a brand new SUV from Nigeria’s automaker, Innoson Motors, plus a trip for two packaged by Travelbeta.

Speaking, Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe said: “With each season of BBNaija, we task ourselves on delivering great content that will take the excitement a notch higher and meet the entertainment needs of our customers. For this sixth season, we are pulling all the stops to give our customers a show like never seen before from Nigeria with end-to-end production best practices under global health and safety standards.”

Meanwhile, there would be no SMS voting this season. All voting will be on the Big Brother Naija website and mobile site as well as on the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps.

Meet the Housemates:


Boma, who has been a model for 10 years, takesmodeling opportunities as they come. He’s ready to showcase his modeling skills in the House.


Saga is a free spirit, as well as young and fun to be with. The 28-year-old, who feels just 21, is an engineer but he would love to go into the entertainment industry because he has passion for art and creativity.


Yousef loves looking good for the camera. From J-Town, he’s very confident and is looking to bring some fun, sexiness and entertainment to the show.  Single and ready to mingle, the Electrical Technology teacher says he will look for a soul mate in the House. 


Pere is not in the House to sing Kumbaya,he prefers ‘Gbas Gbos’.  Event though, the 36-year-old loves drama, he considers himself an actor.


The housemate hails from Enugu and he plans on bringing fun and ginger to the house. Whitemoneyloves to entertain people around him with his talent. He dislikes dirty people and might be popular in the House for saying ‘who dey breathe’ constantly.


Niyi loves to make people happy and comfortable.For the female housemates who have their eyes set on him, he is very much married with a kid. But then, he has vowed not to disclose his marital status. Let’s see how things play out for this South Africa-based businessman.


People think Yerinsis introverted but he’s the complete opposite. To sum up his personality, the medical doctor is creative, dramatic and plain crazy. He’s curious to see what parts of him come out in the House.


JayPaul,29, hails from Calabar, Cross River State. Due to his acting, singing, broadcasting, and tourism experience, he considers himself a social butterfly and a ‘complete’ entertainer. According Jay Paul, people assume he’s a playboy because of his hairstyle. But then, he dislikes people who can’t stay true to themselves. He also plans to entertain viewers. 


The24-year-oldEmmanuel, whohails from Akwa Ibom State, loves modeling, fashion, reading and exploring new culture. He’s also very competitive. According to him, he has “the mind of a hustler and the heart of a king”.


Sammie isfrom the northern part of Nigeria, precisely Kaduna State. He says he has no strategy but then has a goal, which is not to leave the BBNaijaHouse too soon. Sammie’s personality is a ‘vibe’ as he in the House to enjoy himself.


Crossis a party animal that loves clubbing four days a week – from Thursday till Sunday! He also loves to workout, do yoga and drama. 


The 21-year-old Angel who hails from Akwa Ibom considers herself to be friendly and interactive. However, she claims to be a bit bossy and aspires to become a film producer. 


The 26-year-old Peace runs a fashion brand. She loves food and considers herself a nice person. The fashion entrepreneur, however, hopes to generate more exposure for her brand after the show.

Jackie B

Jackie B is asingle mum from Adamawa State who loves good vibes and spontaneity. She has vowed to crush all the challenges that come with winning the prize money. 


Tega, theCross River State indigene, believes that she has a fiery personality but loves to dance. She says her mission in the Big Brother House is to sell herself and add spice to the boredom.


Arin, 29, is a fashion designer who loves to read and research. She’s also an art curator who hopes to bring energy to the show.


Dubai-based Realtor, Maria loves food and thrives in a bubbly environment. Her goal, she says, is to venture into the Nigerian market immediately after the show, as well as maximizing the opportunity of being a housemate. 


A professional dancer from Edo State,Liquorose, 26, started her dancing career when she was 12. With her different personalities, she’s in the House to display all of it. 


Beatrice owns a clothing brand and is working towards establishing a modeling agency. The fashion model has vowed to sell her brand on the BBNaijashow.


30-year-old Princessis a taxi driver from Imo State. She loves to cook and drive, and she’s in the House to showcase her cooking skill.


Saskay, 21, is a model and artist from Adamawa State. One of her dreams is to set up an art gallery.


Nini, who hails from Edo State, loves challenges and looks forward to exploring more of them in the BBNaijaHouse. As a model and fashionista, her goal is to launch her fashion brand after the show.
