Wizkid, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti, Tiwa Savage’s Grammys Awards excite Nigerians

There was excitement all over Nigeria as music superstars Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Femi Kuti and son, Made won Grtammy Awards on Sunday night.

While Burna Boy emerged winner in the category of Best Global Music Album for Twice As Tall, Wizkid won the Best Music Video for featuring in Beyonce’s Brown Skin Girl,from Lion King: The Giftalbum.Tiwa Savage, Femi and Made Kuti won for their contributions to Coldplay’s Everyday Life, which was announced Album of the Year. Their awards were announced during the Premiere Ceremony of the Awards.

The Grammys described Twice As Tallas “a masterclass in the vibe and hustle that have made Burna Boy an international musical force. (He) continues to torch limitations, seamlessly blending styles and genres and fearlessly fuelling the fire heating the melting pot of pop, Afrobeat, dancehall, reggae and more.”

Expressing delight, a vividly excited Burna Boy said: “To every African out there, no matter where you are, no matter what you plan to do, you can achieve it. No matter where you’re from, you are a king. Look at me now, Grammy award-winning Burna Boy. Thank you to everyone.”

Meanwhile, the federal government, eminent Nigerians, artistes and celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate the awardees.
