Fast rising gospel singer, Meme Umukoro aka Meme Rise, has dropped a new single titled, Wonderful Wonders.
Released on Hammer House Records label in conjunction with SG Musik, Wonderful Wonders was done in collaboration with popular gospel musician, Emmanuel Benjamin aka Eben, who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Hammer House Records.
Speaking at the unveiling, Meme Rise, who before the collaboration with Eben, was previously signed to SG Musik, expressed her readiness to work with Hammer House Records to achieve success.
According to the faith-based artiste, her goal is to show everybody that Jesus is real, and as well encourage those who think they are lost, astray and depressed.
A graduate of Economics, Statistics and Education from University of Benin, Meme Rise’s musical journey began with the release of her debut album, Ogheneworu in 2007. She followed this up with hit singles such as God by Yourself; Praise the Lord, and I am the Redeemed of the Lord.
On what inspired the track, Wonderful Wonders, Meme Rise said it’s inspired by God’s love for her and her music. “God’s love inspires my music. I have seen God move in many mysterious ways. So, it’s my time to rise in the music industry,” she avowed.
Revealing the origin of her stage name, Meme Rise, the gospel crooner stated that it emanated from a revelation she had some years ago. “My stage name, Meme Rise, came from a revelation I had some years ago. God told me I was going to rise. So, after my first album, I changed my name to Meme Rise, which is a combination of my first name, Meme and Rise,” she disclosed.
Meme Rise, who credited her husband for being her strong pillar of support, said despite her rising musical career, she remains committed to her church, Voice of Freedom Ministries in Benin City, Edo State.
“My music career will not distract me from my commitment to my church. I am not leaving the choir. I remain committed to my church because everything is in the service of God,” she remarked.
Also speaking, Eben, the CEO of Hammer House Records, stated that signing Meme Rise to his label is part of the wonderful experience of God in this generation.
“I decided to work with Meme Rise following her excellent record as a Christian, who has passed through the process of service to God in her local church choir,” he declared.
However, a major highpoint of the unveiling was when the visual of Wonderful Wonders featuring Eben was previewed to members of the press. The music video was applauded for its high quality, as well as clarity of audio.
