After a six-year hiatus, fast rising singer, Oladipupo Mafoitan aka Ola Jayce, is making a significant return with his debut album, Art of Comeback.
The 11-track album is more than just a collection of songs; it represents the unwavering spirit of an artiste who has navigated the ups and downs of life, and emerged stronger.
Produced by Echo the Guru, Shally the Champion and Tudaxkey, with final touches by renowned mixing engineer Spyritmyx, the album is set to redefine the music scene in 2024.
Ola Jayce’s musical influences include Dagrin, Drake, Lil Wayne and Meek Mill. His early life in Orile Iganmu, a Lagos suburb, marked by adversity and loss of his family, was a crucible that fueled his passion for music. He recalls making beats with improvised instruments: tables, chairs, bottles, stones, plates and spoons during freestyle sessions with friends. Despite initial pressure to focus solely on education, his family has since become his strongest supporter.
The album’s title, Art of Comeback, holds profound significance for Ola Jayce. After a six-year hiatus, the album signifies his return to music, echoing his earlier triumph in chess where he won a national championship after a five-year break.
Ola Jayce’s return is not just about reclaiming his place but setting new standards. His recent single, Loyalty, already a hit across Nigeria with extensive airplay on radio and in clubs, exemplifies his talent and sets the stage for the album’s success.
Proudly identifying with Afrobeats, Ola Jayce celebrates the genre’s global recognition. He sees its rise as a testament to the power of African music.
