Nigeria’s Femi Adebayo, Osita Iheme, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Ghana’s Jackie Appiah, Kenya’s Kenneth Ambani, and Burkina Faso’s Charles Koutou are among African movie stars leading a galaxy of celebrities and practitioners to the 20th edition of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) slated for Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Lagos.

According to Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, AMAA’s CEO, over 60 African film stars will attend the event. “The 20th edition of the AMAA is a big deal and the Board of AFA, owners of the continental film awards, has concluded all arrangements to roll out the drums and make this edition memorable.
“We are not just going to be rolling out in a big way, we are intentional about making the 20th edition the best AMAA that will celebrate the gathering of over 60 film practitioners and creatives. This is what our late sister and founder, Peace Maria Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe had been planning and wished for before her death, and we will actualise the dream to the glory of God,” he said.
Film stars and practitioners, who have also confirmed attendance, are Lydia Forson, Chinedu Ikedieze, Micheal Majid, Adjetey Anna, Morris Sam, and Zuby Micheals among others.
Activities for the 20th edition begin with the launch of AMAA coffee book on Friday, October 25 at Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. This will be followed by a two-day AMAA Africa fashion show and trade exhibition between October 31 and November 1, 2024 at Amore Gardens, Lekki, Phase I, Lagos.
Activities will come to a close with the gala night/awards ceremony on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Balmoral Convention Center, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
