A fan club has been established in Boston, Massachusetts, USA to support Afrobeats star, David Adeleke aka Davido and his team.
The fan club dubbed ‘Davido Supporters Group International (DSGI)’ was founded on March 24, 2026 to support Davido, his manager Asa Asika, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), and the 30BG Network, including other fan clubs rooting for the artiste.
Speaking to the media in Boston, founder of the group, Ambassador Chukwudi Chuck Eke, said that the purpose of the fan club is “to promote the trailblazing multifaceted legacy of the Afrobeats King, Davido, including his phenomenal emersion of our Nigerian culture into global music and entertainment; his pioneering mindset, and his detribalized lifestyle among others.”
Asked if the activities of the fan club are restricted to only one city and state in the United States, Ambassador Eke cheerfully remarked that, DSGI is a global fan club beyond social media, comprising different countries with their states, cities, villages, and entertainment hubs across the international community.
Chuck Eke, who is a Peace Ambassador with the United Nations Peace Volunteers known as International Association of Peace Advocates (IAWPA), noted that “among other positive impacts, Davido’s Afrobeats creations and detribalized philanthropy foster peace and unity, which are essential ingredients for prosperity and progress in Nigeria and Africa.”
Ambassador Eke explained why he has so much love and appreciation for Davido. According to him, the trailblazing Afrobeats leader, “King Davido,” as he fondly calls him, “is not only Nigeria’s Cultural Ambassador in our world today, but he is also an iconic detribalized leader who in different ways uses his music, human capital development, and philanthropy to unite Nigerians from all walks of life, both young and old, in the homeland and in the Diaspora, especially at this moment when the nation is gradually torn apart by divisive rhetoric.”
He stated further: “Besides his detribalised lifestyle, what attracted me to Davido since 2016 in Abuja were his revolutionary mindset, his ability to endure and overcome wrong accusations, his preponderance for entrepreneurship, discovering new paths in the industry, and not depending on the affluence and influence of his wealthy parents to pursue his career in music and entertainment.”
On why he is forming the fan club now, and if it has anything to do with Davido’s 2026 5IVE Alive Tours, Ambassador Eke said: “Give honour to whom honour is due! We are here to lend support to the masterpiece work of the Master of Afrobeats including promoting his 5IVE Alive Tours, Davido’s August 2026 Show with Friends in London, his creative entrepreneurship, his mentorship, and his practical mindset of building human capital by lifting others both in the music industry and entertainment business besides his charitable works for the commoners in our commonwealth.
“Beyond the DSGI, I’ve also shown my love for Davido in other ways. For example, I gave the name Davido to one of the characters in my film titled, Rainbow: Living Your Dream. In the film, Davido suffered the consequences of false allegations from his colleague, but God exonerated and financially blessed him before the end of the day.”
Eke, however, declined to give more details about Rainbow: Living Your Dream, insisting that everyone should watch out for the film, which would premiere soon. However, the filmmaker, songwriter, multimedia consultant and accomplished author of four books, disclosed that he is in the process of writing a resounding tribute book to celebrate and inspire Nigerians to rally around his hero, Davido.
A graduate of Harvard University, Cambridge, USA, Ambassador Chukwudi Eke is currently the President of the US-based DAST Foundation Inc, a non-profit organisation that advocates and intervenes for the victims of drug abuse, drug addiction, substance use disorders (SUDs), and sex trafficking in America and overseas.
