Crown prince of Ekobe music and leader of Anioma Brothers Band of Africa, Azuka Moweta has dropped another highlife banger, Kenechukwu.

This comes about a year after the release of Ekobe Global, which became a favourite for rockers of African sound internationally, including Europe and America.

The vintage seven-track album is a fusion of Ekobe Asaba sound and regular highlife tune such as Kenechukwu, Izunwanne Ka, Odogwu Ahaba and Onye Zusia, a tribute to famous trumpeter, Zeal Onyia. The album also contains Ndi Di Mma, Ogalanya sound system, an instrumental, and Nyem Nkem.

Aside from paying glowing tribute to his compatriot, ace trumpeter Zeal Onyia, Moweta also eulogised the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Epiphany Azinge, and the late Chief Obi Nwanze Oduah (Odogwu Ahaba), making Kenechukwu an album of gratitude and one of the most celebrated, especially during festivities in the Delta State capital.

Odogwu Entertainment and Palenque Records, the album’s executive producers, are leaving no stone unturned to deliver what many consider the best sound of the year, with direct impact on the people and Nigerians in the Diaspora.

Nnamdi Moweta, founder and head, Odogwu Entertainment, producer of Osita Osadebe’s groundbreaking Kedu America album, noted that Azuka has worked so hard to make the new body of work possible.

“For the first time, Ekobe music by Azuka Moweta boasts a brass section of horns. I dare say that this is vintage and it promises to make a huge social impact,” he stressed.

On his part, Lucas Da Silva of Palenque Records, said: “We are happy for the relationship we have with Odogwu, which helps us discover hidden African talents and showcases them through album recording and marketing.”

Kenechukwu Ibedu, Creative Director at Odogwu Entertainment, who supervised the production, hinted that Kenechukwu is a masterpiece of a production, adding, “We are yet to see the best of Azuka Moweta.”

Recorded in Anambra State, with Ijele Amichi emerging as studio engineer,

Kenechukwu is currently streaming on all music platforms globally.

World class DJ Captain Plannet, who created a remix of Izunwanne Ka for the dancehall, concluded that the taste of the pudding baked by Azuka Moweta and His Anioma Brothers Band of Africa is in the dancing feet of the people.
