All roads led to the Chapel of Christ the Light, the multi-denominational Christian center located in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday, May 25 as the much-anticipated COSON Week took off in grand style.

With the theme: ‘Nigeria will rise again!’ the COSON National Day of Prayer brought together Nigerians from all walks of life, praying together for the positive intervention of the Almighty in the affairs of the nation.

The masterfully decorated Chapel of Christ the Light was the epicenter of what turned out to be a talk-of-the-town event. Hundreds of beautifully dressed Nigerians showed up for the elaborate red-carpet cocktails at the front of the chapel, with a master violinist serenading the people, and with cameras everywhere putting them in the spotlight.

It was right there on the red-carpet that the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo- Olu, represented by Rev. Bukola Adeleke, Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, declared open the COSON Week 2025.

Then came the multi-media razzle-dazzle that heralded into the auditorium the Presiding Chaplain, Rev. Oladele Ajayi, who masterfully hosted the performances and prayers with Anchor, Essence Okoro.

The audience danced to the enchanting and explosive performances of popular gospel singers including Chika 100%, Igwe Kenny, Esther Igbekele, Righteousman, Buchi, Mike Abdul, Efe Nathan, and Kenny Saint Brown among others.

Men of God like Bishop Tom Samson, Rev. Tony Akinyemi, Pastor Maureen Okafor, Rev. (Dr) Hunsu, Pastor David Edward, and Pastor Chris Uche offered prayers and urged Nigerians to believe in the future of their country.

In his goodwill message, Sanwo-Olu said: “Here in the Chapel of Christ the Light, surrounded by the anointed voices of Nigeria’s finest gospel singers and the fervent prayers of our ministers, we are already witnessing the extraordinary power of collective prayer. This gathering is far more than an event – it is a divine calling, a sacred moment where every believer is united in heart and spirit, seeking God’s intervention for our beloved nation.

“Lagos, the vibrant heartbeat of Nigeria, stands firmly with COSON and with every Nigerian who believes in the promise of a brighter tomorrow. This gathering is a clarion call to all of us: let us kneel together, raise our voices, and hold fast to the unwavering faith that Nigeria can and will soar
