There is palpable joy and excitement among filmmakers and content creators as KissaX online streaming platform made its debut in Asaba, Delta State.
KissaX provides an alternative platform for filmmakers to air their content and earn money online. In fact, it’s a great relief for filmmakers given the challenges they encounter while distributing their films and reaching out to target audience.
A movie producer, Anita Odiakaose, revealed that the launch of KissaX would create a huge opportunity for Nigerian film producers to market their films and make good returns from their labour.
She said further that though, there were other platforms; KissaX will provide an alternative such that there wouldn’t be much delay and rejection of films with local content.
Odiakaose, however, urged the managers of the platform to be transparent and ensure they stick to contractual agreement with the producers. “This is because, we the Asaba film producers, we have the content and if their financial rewards are good and they can be trusted, we can give them enough content even more than they needed,” she added.
On his part, Austin Fanni, a film producer, said that content distribution and marketing were the major challenges faced by Nigerian filmmakers. He noted that Delta State, like California in the US, has become a hub for film production in Nigeria and that it has taking over from Lagos.
While congratulating the filmmakers for the alternative platform, Fanni urged them to explore the opportunity provided by KissaX App to market and distribute their products and make good returns on their money.
Odogwu Enefe, Chief Executive Officer of KissaX, said the investment that’s worth over N1 billion had its headquarters in the US, and is currently in 20 countries across Europe, Australia and Africa.
The Anambra State-born US-based tech entrepreneur, said the major launching of KissaX would soon take place in Lagos, and other major cities to create opportunity for Nigerian filmmakers and content creators to showcase their work and earn money.
