Amid glamour, razzmatazz and panache, Bright Wonder Obinna Obasi premiered his latest movie, Chains… No Longer a Slave in Abuja last week.
The event, which was attended by prominent gospel musicians and industry stakeholders, emerged as an evening of transformation and spiritual upliftment.
Chains… No Longer a Slave features top gospel artistes and men of God including Apostle Anselm Madubuko, Onos Ariyo, Solomon Lange, Tayo Christian, Flora Lange, Chioma, Naomi Mac and Jayclef. Their performances add layers of emotional resonance to a script rich with meaning, making the film a cinematic experience that transcends mere entertainment.
According to Bright Obasi, the movie’s writer, producer/director, the story was inspired by the many fake people around him; those living a lie, those who have strayed too far from God’s grace and those who have grown numb to sin. To him, these are the chains that need to break, with his film serving as both wake-up call and beacon of hope.
The founder/president of Gospel Cinema International, an outfit dedicated to film evangelism, has a vision that goes beyond just the Christian audience. His previous works such as If I Am President, Broken and Diary of The Triplets have left indelible marks on audiences.
As the film continues its theatrical run across Nigeria and Ghana, it stands as a testament to the transformative power of faith.
