The 2024 Aro Day Festival has come and gone but its memories will continue to linger.

As His Eminence, Eze (Dr) Eberechukwu Oji, the traditional ruler of Arochukwu Community, played host to the world, top entertainers like Chinedu Okoli aka Flavour Nabania put icing on the festival’s cake by their exciting performances.

Flavour thrilled guests during the festival’s award presentation held on December 26, 2024. The musician, who was invited by the Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, captivated the audience with his hit songs.

Flavour expressed gratitude to the governor for the invitation and praised his contributions to the state.

Responding, Governor Otti praised Flavour’s performance and shared his admiration for the singer, noting that he had invited him to the event months earlier and he was pleased that he confirmed his participation. The governor also revealed that Flavour performed pro bono, fulfilling a promise to attend the event without charging any fee.

The celebration attracted numerous personalities and featured cultural performances by masquerades, and other local cultural groups in the community.

But it’s not just the Ekpos that made the festival colourful; other great masquerades also found time to entertain the people. The Duke of Somolu, Joseph Edgar, premiered a play based on the life and times of Eze Kanu Oji, a former monarch of Arochukwu and grandfather of the present king on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Arochukwu Civic Centre.
