After several weeks of intense competition, Accolade TMP finally emerged winner of the talent hunt show, Naija Star Search season 2.
He beat four other finalists including HighCap, Blakk, Clement Daniel, and Alaye Baba to become victorious, smiling to the bank with a grand prize of N20 million. However, while the 1st runner-up won N2 million, the 2nd runner-up went home with N1 million.
The grand finale of Naija Star Search aired last Saturday evening on StarTimes Nollywood Plus channel with a promise to unearth the next generation of Afrobeats stars.
The top 5 contestants brought an infectious energy and undeniable passion to the stage, showcasing the depth and diversity of Nigeria’s musical landscape.
From soulful Afrobeats ballads to energetic Afrobeats anthems, the talent pool has been quite deep this season. The judges – Cobhams Asuquo, Sasha P and Vector – provided invaluable mentorship, offering constructive criticism and words of encouragement that helped the contestants grow and evolve.
Beyond the music, the show also offered a glimpse into the personal journeys of the contestants, making it easy for audiences to connect with them. Their stories of resilience, determination and dreams have been inspiring, adding an emotional dimension to the competition.
But then, the decision of who was eventually crowned the winner rested with the voting public and judges, who jointly and unmistakably picked Accolade as the ultimate king of Afrobeats.
