Nigeria’s pioneer humour merchant, publisher and TV producer, Wale Adenuga, has emerged the Grand Patron of Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN).
Adenuga, who is the chairman of Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP), PEFTI Film Institute and WAPTV, was bestowed with the honour at the EMCOAN Induction Ceremony, which held recently in Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the legendary entertainer, who described himself as one of the founding fathers of EMCOAN, said he’s truly proud of what the association has become.
“As one of the founding fathers of EMCOAN, I am truly proud of what the association has become, with its league of distinguished members who have kept the organisation’s flag flying, ensuring content creators in this part of the world are properly represented as they pursue their creative and business endeavours.
“I will never take such an honour for granted and will perform my role with the same hard work and integrity that have sustained my business empire over the years, and years to come,” he stated.
Aside from Adenuga emerging as the Grand Patron, Yinka Adebayo, Group Executive Director, Omnicom Media Group, West and Central Africa, was also appointed as Patron.
Among those who graced the glamorous investiture were Raphael Akpan, Director, Lagos office, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); BOT members of EMCOAN, Opa Williams (Chairman), Emeka Ossai, Agatha Amata, Deborah Odutayo, Jibe Ologeh, EMCOAN President, Adeniji Omirin, and other members of the association.
