Scriptwriter/interior decorator, Crown Udia aka Crownly, has emerged the winner of the maiden edition of Film Lab Africa reality TV show.

After 25 days of intensive training and creative competition, the Akwa Ibom State indigene beat 48 other contestants to claim victory.

Speaking after his emergence, Crownly expressed deep gratitude, saying the journey had transformed him and given him the confidence to face bigger challenges.

“Initially, I wasn’t sure the show was real,” he admitted. “But I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I’ve always believed that the sky is big enough for every bird to fly. Coming here has impacted me positively. I’ve become more disciplined and focused, and I now leave this house a changed person.”

Crownly noted that every contestant hoped to win, but he maintained strong faith in his potential from the beginning. According to him, winning was a dream come true and a steppingstone toward greatness. He plans to use his prize to further develop himself and give back to the community.

Entrepreneur and director, Ojeikere Ohiosimuan aka D Consultant, from Edo State, was named 1st runner-up. Serving as the first Head of House, he led 48 fellow contestants in the early days of the show.

Sharing how the show strengthened his leadership skills, Ojeikere stated: “It wasn’t easy, but it taught me a lot about responsibility, patience and accommodating others. I’m proud that I made it this far and that I’m someone my community can look up to. I’m going back home a better man.”

The 2nd runner-up, Elo Obokia aka Eno, from Delta State, described her experience as life changing. A beauty therapist and actress, Elo said she considered herself a winner despite not taking the top prize.

“The 25 days in the house have been beautiful. I’ve seen a lot of growth in my career and character. I’m leaving this show better than I came in. I’m so grateful to God and to everyone who supported me.”

Camp Director and representative of organisers of the show, Dr. Victory Emuejekarohwo, praised all 49 contestants for their dedication, hard work and transformation throughout the show. “They’re all winners,” he said. “They’ve done things here that they couldn’t do before. I see greatness in their future.”

Apart from the star prize, Crownly and other top contestants will star in an upcoming movie, with him taking the lead role. This, to the Camp Director, is only the beginning of many more opportunities for the participants.
