The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) will bring together media industry stakeholders both home and abroad to buy, sell, collaborate, aggregate and exchange ideas at this year’s Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) slated for Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos from August 7 to 8.

Speaking at a press conference recently in Lagos, Adeniji Omirin, president of EMCOAN explained that the 2-day event would be the largest gathering of content creators, broadcast stations, advertisers, policy makers and entertainers from across the world.

“The third edition of NEMCEA promises to be top notch in terms of quality of participation across all stakeholders in Nigeria and Africa. This year’s theme has been carefully curated to look at issues that are relevant in the industry. We can’t but speak to the emerging technologies, as it is expected to impact on content production and creative economy of the country,” he said.

The EMCOAN president pledged the best resource persons within and outside the industry to do justice to the central theme and other sub-themes. “This is with a view to unlocking potentials and opening our eyes to opportunities and the palpable negatives from the emerging technologies in content production, with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR), as part of the trends we can’t ignore today.”

Also speaking, Chinedu Ugwu, EMCOAN’s Project Director, stated that NEMCEA is not only a strategic content event, but also a platform to bring to fore perspectives bordering on Nigeria and most especially, Africa’s media industry.

“NEMCEA has three major components which include the conference where we have an array of seasoned professionals as speakers as well as panel discussants; content exhibition, which affords content aggregators and producers the opportunity to interact, network and trade. Also, the awards, this is an evening for relaxation and fun during which contents that have entered for various categories of awards are rewarded,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the NEMCEA’s portal is open for registration of participants including exhibitors, producers, buyers, regulators, media, sponsors and volunteers.
