The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has unveiled the nominees for its 20th edition.
With the theme: Celebrating African Creativity, this years edition of AMAA will hold in Lagos on Saturday, November 2, in partnership with the Lagos State government.
The nomination event, which held at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, had in attendance members of the Jury and Screener College, as well as the AFA Board represented by Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, AMAAs Chief Operating Officer, Tony Anih and AMAA Gala Night producer, Kingsley James,
While revealing the line up of activities for the award ceremony, Anyiam-Osigwe emphasised the significance of the 20th edition, saying it would witness the launch of the AMAA coffee book, AMAA Africa Night of Legends, AMAA Meets Nollywood, AMAA Africa Fashion Show and Exhibition, and AMAA Gala Night.
According to him, the AMAA coffee book launch will take place on October 25, followed by Africa Night of Legends on November 1 and the awards cum gala night on November 2, 2024 at Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja Lagos.
This years AMAA will redefine the continental awards and chart the cause for the next phase ahead, while celebrating the greatness in Africa’s creative industry, Anyiam-Osigwe stressed.
Hosted by Big Brother star, Vimbai Mutinhiri Ekpenyong, the nomination unveiling was equally graced by George Anyiam-Osigwe and his wife, Chinyere; Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe; NFVCB ED, Dr Shaibu Husseini; Steve Ayorinde; Alex O; Cordelia Okpei; Nollywood stars Nobert Young, Segun Arinze, Francis Onwochei, Sunny McDon, Queen Blessing Ebigieson; Charles Novia, Iyke and Florence Okechukwu.
