Twenty-four contestants are set to battle for the Big Brother Naija record-breaking ₦160 million worth of prizes consisting of ₦100 million in cash and an SUV, as the reality TV show kicked off fully amid funfair on Sunday.

Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the show had 12 male and 12 female housemates including Abi, Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, Mercedes, Kamsi, Sultex, Tram, Temi Nkem, Martins, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerard, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethopia and Cassi.

From the outset, some of the housemates made their intentions known, insisting they were in the competition to win rather than pursue romantic relationships.

Tram, a 24-year-old streamer from Lagos, said, “I’m not here for romance or distractions. I’m here to win.”

For 21-year-old Temi Nkem, a model, she expressed confidence in her strategy, saying she’s ready to play the game on her own terms.

According to Martins, a visual storyteller and model from Kogi State, he’s looking forward to enjoying the experience while competing for the top prize.

With the theme: ‘Show Ya Sef’, the show will run for 72 days, with the eventual winner smiling home with a grand prize worth ₦160 million.

The organisers said the annual production employs more than 1,000 Nigerians, including engineers, carpenters, electricians, decorators, camera operators, technical crews, caterers and other support personnel.

Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa, Atinuke Babatunde, stated that “the Season 11 builds on the programme’s legacy of authentic storytelling with higher stakes, new twists and a fresh mix of personalities expected to keep audiences entertained until the finale.”
