Funke Akindele’s upcoming film, Finding Me, with a transition video featuring Femi Adebayo and Joseph Benjamin, would soon hit the cinema.
Posting on Instagram on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the screen diva stated: “FINDING ME!!!!!!!!!! 👀👀👀👀👀👀.”
The transition videos show the actors changing their outfits from suit to native attire, and ending with Finding Me’s T-shirts. The film is being produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN). A month ago, Akindele also announced her forthcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, a spinoff from the Jenifa franchise that will premiere in December 2024.
Akindele is one of Nigeria’s most accomplished filmmakers. Her movie, A Tribe Called Judah remains Nollywood’s highest grossing with over ₦1.4 billion. The actress cum producer’s Battle on Buka Street grossed ₦668 million, while her third highest grossing film, Omo Ghetto: The Saga earned ₦636 million.
Akindele is arguably the most-awarded actress at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) with five wins, including The Return of Sheri Koko (Best Actress in a Comedy, 2014), Jenifa’s Diary (Best Actress in a Comedy Role, 2016, Best Actress in a Comedy Movie or TV Series, 2017, and Best Actress in a Comedy, 2020), and Omo Ghetto: The Saga (Best Actress in a Comedy, 2022).
