Before the coming of Burna Boy, Davido and Wizkid, Edo-born singer, David Cross Idukomose aka Kwate has been topping music charts and all through the year, he has been reinventing his music with lots of tunes to stay relevant.
Kicking off his music career in Edo State and later moving to Lagos, Kwate’s sojourn to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia added great experience to his profile. Till date, as a singer and composer, he has more than 500 songs in his repertoire – some released while others are stored in his archive.
Aside from singing, Kwate promoted lots of shows in Malaysia under the aegis of his ‘Afrobeat Evolution Concert’. The music festival brought together thousands of Malaysians and Nigerians, subtly promoting peace and unity between the two countries. Recently, he dropped a new single titled, On Ground. And since its release on various digital platforms, the song has been enjoying heavy downloads.
As part of promotional plans for the song and his 16 years on the beat, Kwate is set to host the ‘On Ground Musical Summer Tour 2024’ on dates to be announced soon. The tour will take the singer and some of his friends to lots of Nigerian cities and some West African countries.
