Stakeholders in the electronic media content industry must maximize and take advantage of new trends in the technology space to enhance their productions.

This is coming as the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA), which held recently amidst glamour and panache at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, Lagos, recorded a preponderant consensus of practitioners.

NEMCEA is a 2-day strategic media content event convened annually by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN). Its maiden edition was held at the same venue in 2022.

In his opening remarks at this year’s event, the President of EMCOAN, Mr. Adeniji Omirin emphasised the importance of improving on the last two editions, revealing that the association is made up of industry veterans as well as associates members who are made up of young and upcoming content producers, especially online content creators.

“We also have a very large number of contents across paid TV and terrestrial TV platforms in Nigeria and across Africa. Our association is made up of industry veterans as well as associates members made up of young and upcoming content producers, especially online content creators,” he submitted.

A Special Guest of Honour at the event, the former Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, alluded to the need for the government to take the creative industry seriously and invest in it.

Obi Emelonye, a Lead Speaker who treated the central theme: ‘Content Production and Emerging Technology, A Panacea For Growth in The Creative Economy’, enjoined content producers to start embracing the new technological trends to enhance better productivity. He gave instances of how he made use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for storyboarding in his last film production, relishing the worthwhile exprience to the audience.

Other speakers and panelists that shared insights and perspectives during the 2-day event included Yinka Adebayo, Group Executive Director, Omnicom Media Group; Osemede Uwubanmwen, President, Advertising Agency of Nigeria (ADVAN); Julius Olaoluwa Oyekanmi, Co-Founder, NIGPT & CEO, Finnova Corp; Brenda Nwagwu, CEO, QVT Media; Marian Ogaziechi, Managing Director, Mediafuse Dentsu, Nigeria; Igwe Okeke, MD, CARAT Media Nigeria); Adenike Ajani, Associate Director, Media and Investments, Algorithm Media; Chief Emeka Ossai, MD/CEO, Golden Pyramid Productions; Jibe Ologeh, Managing Director, R-Wells Media & Advertising; Alayande Stephen, MD/CEO, Eagles House Global Resources; and Kingsley Omoefe, Managing Director, Golden Heritage Ltd.

Zee World, Creative Nigeria Summit (CNS), Radisson Blu Hotel, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), IBOM Air, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Indomie, and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) threw their weights behind this year’s NEMCEA.
