Sensational American singer, Beyonce Knowles-Carter simply known as Beyonce, made history at this years Grammy Awards, as she earned 11 nominations and won two awards, bringing her total Grammy plaques to an unprecedented 34.
In a groundbreaking feat, Beyonce became the first Black woman to win the Best Country Album award for her song, Cowboy Carter. She already held the title of the most Grammy awarded artiste, a record the singer earned in 2023 with Renaissance. Now, with two more awards at this years ceremony, her total number of Grammys has risen to 34.
Taking to the stage in palpable disbelief, Beyonce said: Wow, I really was not expecting this. Wow, I wanna thank God – Oh my God! – That Im able to still do what I love after so many years. Oh my God!
Id like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what theyre passionate about, and to stay persistent.

Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter was a landmark project that highlighted Black artistes in country music.
Beyonce has previously shared her experience of not feeling welcomed when she first explored the genre, making the Grammy win even more significant.
In all, Beyonce received 11 nominations including Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Her song, Texas Hold Em earned nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song, while 16 Carriages and Ya Ya respectively secured nominations for Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Americana Performance.
